Richard Harrison

Professor Richard Harrison holds the Dixons Chair in Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the University of Edinburgh. He was previously Professor of Management Studies and Director of the Centre for Entrepreneurship at the University of Aberdeen, and has held Chairs in Strategy and Organizational Development and in Management Development at the University of Ulster. He has also taught business strategy and entrepreneurship in Argentina.
His core research interests include entrepreneurial finance; particularly venture capital and informal venture capital, and technology transfer and academic entrepreneurship. He has published five books and over 100 academic papers in international and national journals, and has published and consulted widely on entrepreneurial finance nationally and internationally. His book on Informal Venture Capital has recently been translated into Japanese and he is co-founding editor of Venture Capital: An International Journal of Entrepreneurial Finance.
