The First Finnish Mass Customization and Personalization (MDP) Forum - Facing International Research

The First Finnish Mass Customization and Personalization (MCP) Forum was held in Turku, June 13, 2004. Participating professors, researchers, and industrial representatives from Finland, Germany, USA, and Denmark created an environment conducive to productive discussions. As an end product, and also as an impetus for future research, this publication, Proceedings of The First Finnish Mass Customization and Personalization (MCP) Forum was published. In this publication, seven articles by twelve prominent authors are presented. The papers approach mass customization from different points of view, ranging from customization of project management and information systems design to intelligent clothing and industrial training, each making a valuable contribution to the development of the Mass Customization blueprint. Readers will find that these articles provide a comprehensive and up-to-the-minute insight into the world of mass customizing, reflecting the authors’ expertise in the area. After reading these articles, some myths might have been exposed and some opportunities perceived.
